PDP BoT election ends in stalemate

* apologies for the earlier post

The three-hour meeting of members of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday failed to produce a new chairman of the board as expected.
The meeting was meant to elect a replacement for former President Olusegun Obasanjo who resigned from the position last year for personal reasons.
Speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting which ended at about 11.30pm, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Canada, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, said a committee was set up to streamline membership of the board in preparation for the election of a new chairman.
The committee has three weeks to conclude its assignment.

Jonathan Gives Almost N1billion To Turai, Others As 'Severance'?

The presidency has paid nearly N1billion to the family of late President Umaru Yar'Adua, according to an official memo obtained in Abuja. The slush funds were routed through the Katsina State government, the home state of the former president.

The payment includes about N150 million to Mrs. Turai Yar'adua, as well as others to the late president's aged mother, his married daughters, and sons.

Although the controversial former First Lady has got the biggest payout, it would be recalled that it she who pushed Nigeria to the brink of a political crisis between 2009 and May 2010 while her late husband was hospitalized in Saudi Arabia.

Mrs. Yar'Adua was at the head of a cabal of Ministers, aides and security agents that manipulated the nation for many tense months as they clung to power, almost leading to the collapse of the government.

It remains unclear if Yar-adua's second wife, Hauwa Umar Radda, whom the late president divorced in 1997, benefited from the "free Nigerian money".

I am confused, what do I do

I would like to share my story on your blog because I would like to hear what people’s opinion are.

My name is Chidera and I am in my late 20’s a single mother to a 7yr old daughter and to the glory of God, I own my business. I have been in and out of relationships that have not been productive and I think that at this stage the only thing that is left for me is marriage. I met a guy recently who is not only my tribal guy but also from a neighboring village. He is also into business and he works in a pharmaceutical company. He is also a single father to a 7yr old boy.

We have been dating for quite some time now and we are considering marriage but there is a big problem. We both share the same genotype, we are both AS. He was once married and the marriage produced two wonderful boys. After some years they both had to part ways. The reason for his breakup with his ex-wife was because they share the same genotype AS.

Among the sons she gave birth to, one of them was SS, though the child is dead now, but the lady’s parent totally disagreed to the union and asked them to both part ways, which they both agreed on. The point now is that we share the same blood group and we are looking forward to tying the knot, and I don’t know if I should go ahead with this marriage because I don’t want a situation where we will be asked to part years after we have spent time together as a couple. But he said he is positive that the only thing we need to take into consideration is that we won’t have too many kids.

I am confused.

Messi wins it again

He won it in 2009, 2010, 2011 and now in 2012. The only player in history to win it four times. Bow to the king! Though a lot of people think Christiano Ronaldo should have won. What do you think?

Barcelona and Argentina forward, Lionel Messi has won the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or . He beat Barcelona and Spanish midfielder, Andres Iniesta and Real Madrid and Portugal forward, Cristiano Ronaldo at the gala held at the Zurich Kongresshaus in Switzerland.
Even though Barcelona did not lift a major trophy in 2012 – the Copa del Rey aside – Lionel Messi continued to go from strength to strength, amassing goals and records along the way. His achievements in 2012 included becoming Barça’s  all-time leading goalscorer in official matches when he scored his 233rd goal on 20 March, breaking the record for the number of UEFA Champions League goals in a single season (14) and, with his 82 goals in all competitions, he edges ever closer to breaking the record held by the legendary Gerd Muller (85 goals).
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner was no less impressive for Argentina either, helping them dominate the South American FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

LOL!!! Halima Abubakar says she almost played for Super Falcons

At the Army Day Secondary School, Halima was a regular figure in the central defense of her school team, and after school, she played in the local league with the Surulere Girls team before heading for Jegede Babes, where she eventually picked up an injury that hindered her from playing international.

The actress says if she had succeeded in playing regularly for Jegede Babes, apparently, she would have also played for the Super Falcons or an international football club.

"I'm happy I didn't end up playing football professionally. Running round on the pitch was so hilarious. I'm glad they didn't pick me to join the Falcons because I would not have had the time to become an actress. Besides, injuries were a factor. It wasn't fun for me because I was petit."

Kalu Uche leaves eagles Camp

Rizespor forward, Uche Kalu has ruled himself out of the Nigerian squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, supersport.com can report. Kalu has struggled to recuperate from a groin injury and has opted to leave Nigeria’s pre-Afcon camp in Faro, Portugal.

The former Enyimba forward could not train with the rest of the squad this week owing to the injury and had been placed under close supervision by the Nigerian team doctor.

He also missed out of Wednesday’s friendly against Catalonia.
On Friday, Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi had requested from the medical team to know the health status of the player before next week’s deadline to submit his final squad of 23 players to Caf for the Afcon in South Africa.
However, the player’s lawyer, Chike Onyeacho, has shed more light on Kalu’s decision to rule out himself from the Super Eagles’ trip to South Africa.
