Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has praised his boys following their 1-0 win over Kenya in a Group F World Cup qualifier at Kasarani on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles scored the winner in the 81st minute to dash Kenya’s hopes of qualifying for Brazil 2014. The win saw Nigeria open a two point lead atop the group with eight points.
“This is a good result to us. We are now top of the group following Namibia’s draw against Malawi which has put us in the driving seat.”
“It wasn’t a walk in the park, Kenya has a good team and with players like Victor Wanyama they should be proud with that they are doing. The match was also a good build up to the Confederations cup because it will boost the team.”
He also explained their tactics.
“We always play with three strikers, it’s a formation and has to be executed. We won the African Cup of Nations using it and it worked for us here in Nairobi.”
“Every player did it for the team and we look forward to facing Namibia which will be a different ball game.”
