The National Assembly will pass the 2013 budget next week, Senate President David Mark has said.
Speaking yesterday during plenary, Mark said the National Assembly would pass the budget before it goes on vacation for Christmas. Both chambers are billed to proceed on vacation on December 20 and resume on January 12.
Mark yesterday called on all the sub-committees on appropriation to submit their reports on the budget defences of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). Mark said 13 of the 56 sub-committees were “holding down” the work of the Appropriation Committee by having not submitted their reports.
