VP Sambo canvasses support for Gov. Yero


Vice President Namadi Sambo on Saturday in Kaduna appealed to the PDP caucus to rally round and give Gov. Mukhtar Yero, the needed support to move the state forward.
Sambo made the remark at the PDP caucus meeting convened by Yero, at the Hassan Usman Katsina State House, Kawo in Kaduna.
He expressed sadness and grieve over the death of the late Gov. Patrick Yakowa, whom he described as a brother, friend, mentor.
The vice president urged the caucus members to maintain the stronghold of the party in the state, adding that the meeting was an avenue to explore means of consolidating the legacies of the late governor.
Earlier, Yero, appealed to the members to support the new administration, assuring that he would run an all inclusive government.
Also, in his remarks, the state PDP Chairman, Amb. Nuhu Bajoga, pledged PDP’s support for Yero’s administration.
On his part the PDP National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, appealed for continued support of the administration.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at this juncture the caucus went into a closed door meeting.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting include the Minister of Environment, Hajiya Hadiza Mailafia, Nigerian High Commissioner to UK, Amb. Daltatu Tafida and Senators Isaiah Balat, Nenadi Usman.
Others are: members of the House of Representatives, Umar Barde, Godferry Gaya, past and present state PDP Chairmen, among other top government PDP functionaries. (NAN)
